Waste Crisis

The world is experiencing an overshoot of limited resources coupled with the waste and pollution crisis. As part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG#12), we are called to become more responsible in our consumption and production.

01

The Problem of Linear Economy

For decades, we have been relying on a linear economy (take, make, and waste) that is fuelled by overconsumption and industrial growth. Now industries are challenged to transform and adopt more sustainable practices including circularity.

02

Unsustainable Landfills

Even with only 60-70% of urban waste being collected, landfills are running out of space especially in Indonesia. Furthermore, we are presented with health and environmental degradation risks.

03

Inadequate & Inefficient Waste Management

The lack of infrastructure and systems causes low recyclability rates and/or inhibits circular economy implementation.

04

Data & Awareness

There is a lack of awareness and traceability of data in the informal waste industry in Indonesia.
